The labour market is undergoing profound structural change. Jobs are disappearing, new ones are being created and existing ones have to be adapted to changing requirements. These changes are particularly evident in the Ruhr region, which has long been dominated by traditional industries such as coal and steel. In view of the increasing shortage of skilled labour, we are using our network in Duisburg and the region to develop and implement solutions.
Our network partners:
The Regionalagentur NiederRhein has been based at DBI since 1 July 2022. As one of 16 regional agencies in NRW, we implement the labour politics of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia directly in the region. We link the support measures of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs, financed by the European Social Fund (ESF), with the needs of the Lower Rhine region - Kleve district, Wesel district and Duisburg.
Our aim is to secure existing jobs and tap into new employment potential by developing regional strategies. Together with labour market and economic players, we create dynamic networks to establish the Lower Rhine region as an attractive and liveable business location. On behalf of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, we support training providers in the implementation of ESF-funded programmes and measures.
